From the contractor's or utility's estimate for the specific equipment, based on your bills. Enter 0 if unknown.
Ask an agent; leave at 0 if unknown.
2. Keeping the old hvac system
Service calls and parts you expect next year, from recent invoices or the technician's estimate.

How the numbers work
- Replacing now: the quote today, then the yearly savings, then any extra sale value in the year you sell.
- Deferring: repair bills each year (rising at your rate), the replacement at a price grown at your inflation rate, then the savings and sale value - unless you sell first.
- Each year's amount is divided by (1 + discount rate)year to put it in today's dollars. Undiscounted totals are in the export.
- Repairs after a new installation, financing and tax effects are not modelled. Prices, savings and lifespans come from you, not Reaixo.

When is it worth replacing an HVAC system?
When the cost of keeping the old system - repairs and higher energy bills - outweighs bringing forward the cost of a new one, over the time you expect to stay. The calculator compares both with your own quotes.
How much will a new system save on energy?
It depends on the old and new equipment, your climate and your bills. Ask the contractor or your utility for an estimate for the specific equipment; enter zero if you do not have one.
Are there rebates or tax credits?
Sometimes, from utilities, states or federal programs, and they change. Subtract any you have confirmed from the replacement price you enter.
